蚕の働きが見えるテキスタイル
絹は調湿・保温・通気性などに富んだ、人の肌に近い繊維素材です。古来より働く昆虫として絹を作り出してきた蚕は、2日休まずに糸を吐き続けて一つの繭を仕上げ、その一生を終えます。
一つの繭は約0.5gです。その蚕の労働力が一つのブロックとなるチェック柄のストールを織り上げました。ゆるく織り上げた風を通す大きなブロックと、詰めて織り上げた風を通しにくくする小さなブロック。ブロックの大きさの違いは、季節に寄り添ったデザインとなります。
The work of the silkworm is demonstrated on the textiles.
Silk is a material that is very similar to human skin. Both air and moisture pass through silk naturally. Silkworms have been used since ancient times. It takes them two days to produce one silk cocoon, weighing about 0.5g, a task they continue for the whole of their lives.
A stole has been made to demonstrate the work of silkworms. Each block in the check pattern uses 0.5g of silk. There are 3 types of textiles which are designed to reflect seasons. 2 of them are woven to allow air to pass through easily, 1 of them is woven to keep the wind out.

全タイプに共通して色の一番濃いブロックがシルク100%で約0.5gの糸を使用しています。中間色の部分はそれそれの素材を掛け合わさったブロック。白や一番薄い色の部分はシルク以外の素材のブロックになります。
ブロックの大きさ異なるのは、織り上げ方の密度をそれぞれに変えているからです。それぞれの体感や環境、温湿度と好みの風通し、好みの肌触りに応じてお選びいただけます。
・beige : silk × cotton × linen
リネンを用いて、緩く編まれているのでシリーズの中で一番風通しがよいものになります。
・grey : silk × cotton
程よい密度で織り上げられたタイプになります。気温や湿度に応じて、纏い方を工夫していただければ、一年を通して長くご使用いただけます。
・navy blue : silk × wool × cotton
ウールを用いて、強く織り上げらているので防寒性に優れたものなります。
100% silk is used to weave the darkest block in the check pattern, and the weight of thread of the block is 0.5g. In the middle dark block, silk and the other thread is woven. And the lightest block is woven by the other thread, no silk is woven.
Change of the density of weaving makes the size of block different from each textile. According to the cycle of the seasons, we could choose which textiles to wear.
-beige: silk/ cotton/ linen
A loose woven textile which is especially for spring and summer.
-grey: silk/ cotton
A middle woven textile which is useful for all year round to change the way of wrapping.
-navy blue: silk/ wool/ cotton
A tight woven textile which is especially for fall and winter.
work and technology
大阪・泉州にある特殊な繊維加工を得意とする樽井繊維工業。
デザインを担当したPANTALOONはその製造現場を注意深く観察することでin workの「蚕の動きを生地に表す」というシンプルなアイデアを思いつきました。
しかし、そのシンプルなアイデアを製品化する為には複雑な工程が必要となります。蚕がその生涯に吐き出せる絹の糸の量0.5gのブロックを具現化する為には、縦糸の整形だけで約4400本の糸の組み合わせが必要となります。素材に関する知識と生地を生成する機械の特性を熟知した樽井繊維工業と提携会社の技術者たちによってin workは可能になりました。
Tarui Fiber Industry is a fiber processing industry in Sensyu, Osaka.
PANTALOON, the designer of in work, through focusing on the field of the industry, came up with an idea to demonstrate the life of a silkworm.
The idea is simple, the process is complex. To weave one 100% silk block of 0.5g, about 4.400 silk threads for warp and weft is needed. Tarui Fiber Industry and technicians of its allied company which has an expert knowledge about fiber enabled to make in work.
