重さを視覚化した木の箱
スギ、ウォールナット、メープル、チーク、シラカシ。
一括りに木といっても木目や色や重さなどを、それぞれに特徴があります。種類によって重さの違う木材に着目し、重さを基準に木から角材を切り出したような木のかたまりのような箱。
50gのスギは50gのシラカシよりもサイズは大きく、一般的な工業規格や定形サイズではない50gのサイズの箱になりました。
Wooden boxes whose waight is visibly apparent.
Cedar, walnut, maple, teak, and evergreen oak, each kind of wood has its own color, pattern, and weight. These boxes have been crafted from woods of varying weights. They are designed to look as if they have been cut straight from the tree. The boxes have been made not to match a certain length or width, but a certain weight.
A 50g box made of cedar is bigger than a 50g box made of evergreen oak. Sizes of each box are not standardized, but we could say that both of them are the size of 50g.

木材（素材）が変われば、密度が変わります。
高さと奥行のサイズを均一にして、それぞれの木材の重さが50g均一になるようにサイズをコンピュータのアルゴリズムによって算出。次に算出された図面をベースに、木のかたまりのような質感を損なうことなく成形する為に熟練した家具職人の手によって1つづつ製作され、gramは完成します。
Woods each have their own density.
The size of gram is calculated by computer algorithm to give 5 boxes, whose height and depth are same but whose materials are different each other, even 50g weight. A skillful artisan makes these boxes by hand not to mar the looks of a chunk of wood.
